DotStar.Show() C# IOT issue

by rellis on Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:30 pm

Hello!

I am using windows IOT and C# with a raspberry pi 3 to make a UWP app that controls a dotstar led strip.

I have tried updating the led inside of both a dispatchertimer and a threadpooltimer. Both work but after awhile a strange thing happens. The buttons that i have hooked up to the pi that control different states stop working and the sounds that I am looping the in the background stop working. The strip continues to run its loop and there are no errors. I have narrowed it down to the Dotstar.Show() command. If I comment that out everything runs as it should forever.

I am not running out of memory and the CPU is not maxed out.

Has anyone ran into this? Can anyone give me advise?

Please help!

I have now also tried using the task system. Same result. After a few seconds the gpio pins I am using to detect button presses stop working.
