LED video wall controller limitations

by skedar46 on Fri Mar 09, 2018 9:15 pm

I have a project where I need to connect 52 of these 16x32 rgb LED matrices together in a ring and control them with one of these controllers in an orientation that looks kinda like this where the arrow represents the up position:
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------
|....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....|
|....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....|
|.->.| |.->.| |.->.| |.->.| |.->.| |.->.| |.->.| |.->.|
|....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....|
|....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....| |....|
------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------
But I don't understand what the limitations are for the video controller involving a setup like this. So my questions are, can I chain 8 of these matrices per strip and will this orientation be a problem when configuring the video controller?

Also, does anyone know what the pin pitch is for the included IDC cables? It doesn't look like the ones included will be long enough for this setup, so I'll need to order longer ones and I can't find any specs on the pin pitch.
