plastic/paper on lens of 3 NeoPixel LEDs

I ordered: Adafruit NeoPixel LED Dots Strand - 20 LEDs at 2" Pitch PID: 3630 back in February and just now getting around to the project taking them out of the box they were shipped in.

When I wired up the leds and ran a test program and noticed that 3 of the 20 NeoPixels have plastic and paper melted onto the front part of the led I have a picture included showing one neopixel LED that is fine and two with the globs of plastic paper partially covering the led. Is this flaw in the manufacturing process or something else?

Looks like something that may have been picked up in packaging or shipping from the manufacturer. Are you able to remove it cleanly?

I had my doubts as they plastic bits were very securely attached but with a few different attempts and a lot of force they did relinquish their hold on the LED :) It all came off cleanly for two of the LEDs. One LED has a small mark left over but you can spot it when the LEDs are lit. So I am good to go with the project.
