144 led neo pixel strip

Post by scottr729293 »

I purchased 2 skinny neo pixel rgb 144 led ID 2969, on may 10, order number 176068689. one strip works well the other wont. i tested it on the same circuit that the other one works on and it still wont work right. Besides not behaving the way it should the first 2 led's won't even light up at all. I need to exchange it for one that works. thanks

Can you post pictures of the connections to the strip?

I always test a circuit or component before I build so it still has original wires attached.

The original wires are connected to both ends of a 5-meter reel and the piece you have may be the tail. check the arrows on the strip to make sure they point away from the end.

the instructions for the C.B. that I'm using stressed making sure the arrows were in right direction so I checked that several times. I have attached the page of C.B. owners manual that shows hookups. With my experience using these very small C.B.s, I've gotten in the habit of being very anal with solder joints and connections. This is my first time using neo pixels but it's my 12th saber build. when working with such small spaces (it all has to fit in a 1.5 x 12 inch tube) has taught me to be very careful and thorough.

I forgot to tell you, i used a 330 ohm resistor for data (white wire).

The reason i feel so strongly about it being faulty is that one of the two strips i bought works fine but the second one wont, even though it was connected the same.

is there any way to expidite this process, these led strips are for a custom saber that is already sold. I was supposed to have it done this weekend. I can probably put him off for a week or two, but at some point he'll want his money back or the saber. I stand to lose $350 that I've already spent on parts.

Sure, go ahead and contact [email protected] with a link to this thread and they will replace the strip.
