2.8" TFT ILI9341 Flickering

Post by rambyno »

Hey there,

I've just hooked up a 2.8" TFT SPI (ILI9431 driver) using 'Adafruit_Python_ILI9341' library. Basically I want to use the LCD to display a number of variables. The setup is quite simple: The Pi boots and automatically runs the script to display data on the LCD. A few frames (2 - 5) per second would be enough to do the job. The screen works, but there's an issue: it flickers. To update the variables I have to place 'disp.display()' in a loop. Every time it hits this line the LCD notably blinks. I had an OLED screen set up beforehand, but it's too small to do the job.

Any way to solve this? Or is there a different configuration I could arrange?

I've attached a short video. It looks different on camera, but you can see it on the right side of the screen. In reality the entire LCD blinks. Video:
