Change I2C address of 1.3" 128x64 OLED graphic display

Post by Systembolaget »

I purchased Adafruit Monochrome 1.3" 128x64 OLED graphic displays through your EU vendor Exp-Tech.

1. It the associated product description, it says
This board/chip uses I2C 7-bit address between 0x3C-0x3D, selectable with jumpers
.

2. In the associated tutorial, it says
To start, you'll need to solder the two jumpers on the back of the OLED. Both must be soldered 'closed' for I2C to work!
.

I'm sitting here preparing for a group of students and I just cannot find the jumpers that allows selecting one of the two aforementioned I2C addresses. Is the product description faulty?

Thank you very much in advance for how we can change the I2C address!

It's a two step process. First, you enable I2C by soldering close the two jumpers on the back. They are indicated by the red arrows in the image here:

Second, to set the I2C address, you can do nothing and it will default to 0x3D. If you want to set the I2C address to 0x3C, then connect a wire from SA0 on the header pins to GND.

Ok, thanks, did that.

Maybe it's a good idea to correct 1. - the product description...
