UV NeoPixel LED Strip - specs

Post by HorstO »

Hello!
The new Adafruit NeoPixel UV LED Strip with 32 LED/m (https://www.adafruit.com/product/3851) looks really cool. Maybe I'm blind, but I don't find specs for the UV LEDs! Could you add some or provide some info here? I am mainly interested in the wavelength/spectrum those LEDs emit at (are they 3 individual ones with different or same wavelengths?).
Thanks!

all three dies are going to be the same wavelength, should be 400nm!

Thanks! If there is any way to know for sure I would really appreciate that. I want to use those in a laboratory setting and would like to be able to report accurately. Wavelength/Intensity plots would be perfect.

we'll try but...these arent calibrated UV LEDs, they'll probably vary anyways. for lab settings we recommend getting binned/calibrated UV emitters from digikey.com

Thanks, good to know! Experiments wouldn't crucially depend on wavelength in this case, it would just give me peace of mind to know more details about their spectra. But I will keep that in mind!

Hi,
I am also interested in information as to the wavelength. My application would be for possibly using it in a light source for alt process photography, for example platinum/palladium printing. The ability to control brightness in sections could be useful.
Thanks

I see that you have UV NeoPixel now with 395nm UV LED ( https://www.adafruit.com/product/3851 ), will you have a 365nm version soon?
