LED Driver - FadeCandy - Dithering USB-Controlled Driver - D

by goki on Wed Aug 08, 2018 3:27 am

Hi Guys,

I wish to know that the product FadeCandy - Dithering USB-Controlled Driver (https://www.adafruit.com/product/1689) would support NeoPixel Ring - 12 x 5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers (https://www.adafruit.com/product/1643) and NeoPixel Stick - 8 x 5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers(https://www.adafruit.com/product/1426).

Also what are the command protocols or API or any documentations available to control the color and timings of LEDs .

Thanks in advance!

The FadeCandy works with any of the RGB Neopixel shapes including Rings, Sticks, Strips and discrete pixels.

The Open Pixel Control Protocol (OPC) used by FadeCandy is documented here: http://openpixelcontrol.org/

the low-level protocol for the chips is detailed in the data sheet here: https://www.adafruit.com/images/product ... eet%20.pdf

Hi Tech Support Team,

I have received the FadeCandy - Dithering USB-Controlled Driver for RGB NeoPixels and NeoPixel Stick - 8 x 5050 RGB LED with Integrated Drivers. I tried connecting the FadeCandy - Dithering USB-Controlled Driver to the PC and followed the tutorial -> https://github.com/scanlime/fadecandy.

Tried running the bin/fcserver.exe in Windows 10 to detect the connections, It couldn't detect the Device connected, even the Device manager couldn't detect a USB device connection to PC. Tell us what should be done, is that related to Driver? If yes, please tell us what should be done to resolve the issue?

Thanks in Advance!

Does the DeviceManager display change at all when you plug in the FadeCandy? If it is a driver problem, the device may show up as a generic USB device or as "unknown".

Also, try connecting with a different USB cable.

Hi Support Team,

The device is not even detected while plugged in. Tried the same, both in Linux 16.04LTS as well as Windows 10, neither of them show any kind of response while connected to the PC. Even when $lsusb or when checked the Device manager on Windows we couldn't find a device attachment.

For the suggestion you gave us on changing the USB cable, we used three different cables one of them where actually used in one of the working projects, so I guess there is nothing wrong with the USB cable.

Please do suggest us what will be the next thing to be done. We tried all the possibilities from our end.
