PiTFT #2441 GPIO Pins question

by looneytoondad on Sun Sep 16, 2018 12:12 pm

I trying to figure out a couple of things concerning this screen (3.5" PiTFT #2441, https://www.adafruit.com/product/2441.)

1) What pins are still available (specifically trying to see if I can add 2 buttons to my project while using the screen)? I know the description states that the SPI pins (SCK, MOSI, MISO, CE0, CE1) as well as GPIO #25 and #24 and GPIO #18. So does that mean I can use GPIO 5,6,12,13,16,17,19,20,21,22,23,26,27? ALso, is SCK the same as SCLK?

2) I just want to make sure that when the description says "There's a 2x13 'classic Pi' connection GPIO header on the bottom", that this is referring to the separate 2x13 rows of pins that are on the center of the board perpendicular to the 2x20 connector? I can connect to to the unused GPIOs (from question 1)? And if so I just follow the older pin numbering from early raspberry pi's?

Thanks in advance.

Yes.

Maybe. But there are other serial interfaces that have a clock line, like I2C. Where are you seeing the two different labels?

Correct. You can see this simple remapping in the upper left of the schematic:
