I use this display (HDMI 5" 800x480 Display Backpack - With Resistive Touchscreen PID: 2260) on a project and I recently purchased 5 more displays. It seems that the display is not reporting what it is to the host system, in my case a NUC running Linux.
I have tried all 5 new display's and they all have the same issue. I tested one from the previous batch and they work just fine.
Problem: The NUC is plugged into a large monitor, remove the HDMI cable and plug into the 5" display, The video will not resize.
Example pictures:
Connected to the large monitor
Moved the HDMI cable from large monitor to the 5" / Picture will not resize
Move the HDMI cable to the 5" from a previous purchase that works every time
I noted on the display setting that the 5" display from the previous batch shows "Add -DATA Gmbh 7". On the latest purchase, there is nothing displayed, its blank. Like the firmware to the video driver did not get flashed correctly?
Let me know what else you need to help me resolve this as I am out of monitors and need to purchase more ASAP.
Thanks

Re: HDMI 5" Display - With Touch - Not resizing
Did a little more research and purchased a couple different 5" monitors from Amazon that work . Here is what I found.
Previous batch sample telling the OS what it is so that it can make the proper adjustments and display correctly. New batch, as you can see it's not displaying what it is, and will not resize correctly. 22" large monitor, adjusts correctly and presents itself to the OS. How about a letting me know what to do with the 5 units I have that are not working, and a bigger question, has this been fixed or do I need to redesign my project to accept a different monitor?

Did you do anything to the first one to change its EDID? Or are you using all of them as delivered?

All as delivered.
The previous purchase of 13 units work normally. The issue only came up on the current 5 units that I have.

It's acting like your recent ones do not have any EDID info in them. I'll ask and see if any thing might have changed from when you ordered the first batch to this most recent batch. If you want to try setting the EDID, the info here should help:

Re: HDMI 5" Display - With Touch - Not resizing
The new 5" Displays I received as replacements have the same issue.
No EDID, so the display will not resize.
Has this been fixed?
I have 5 displays with this issue and if there was a simple fix to load the EDID I would try that?
