I purchased a Pi 3 B+, and a fully assembled 2.8" PiTFT Plus along with a case and button pack. I've gotten the display to work and as far as I can tell the touchscreen gets events (tested with evtest), but I'm unable to figure out how to get access to any events from button presses.
I'm a bit new to all these things so not sure what I'm doing wrong. Searching around I've found various older posts which are confusing because they suggest that you can't use the buttons and the touchscreen at the same time (you have to somehow disable one to use the others), or that the buttons are there but not wired. Many of the tutorials I've come across seem to skip over the buttons (https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pit ... i/overview doesn't mention the buttons other than suggesting they are wired to GPIO pins #23, #22, #21, and #18 without further details).
Any pointers or tips to get these working would be appreciated. I really just want to triggerhappy (which seems to have been installed and started as a service by raspbian lite (version "9 (stretch)"), but I get nothing using 'thd --dump /dev/input/event*' and pressing the buttons.
Thanks.
Need help getting 2.8" PiTFT Plus buttons to work
