HI I was asked to start a new thread for the problem I was having with the 5" 800x480 Display Backpack not being detected by the PC.

History:

I had used 20 of the displays so far without a problem, two new ones were purchased to compete the build and they would not display the PC screen. they were replaced by the supplier and the two new ones also had the same problem.

what I have done so far to try and rectify this problem:

looking at the circuit diagram for the display I checked the connection from the e2prom U2 (24LC02B) to the HDMI connector, these are all ok.

Read the contents of the e2prom, Now these all read as 0xFF so now I believe that the E2prom has not been programed with the screen data.

Got a copy of the display e2prom data and programmed the e2prom. Display now works and I've just got to program the second display and confirm it.

support can you post a full copy of the e2prom data so I can confirm the data I have is correct. it starts with 0x00, 0xff and the last byte is 0x17 (about the 140th byte) then it's 0xFF to the end. I think the date code on the PC is "1806"

Hope this help with the problem people are seeing with these displays and connection to a PC.

below is the data that I programed in to the 24LC02 e2prom to get the board to function correctly.
