HDMI 7' Backpack Issues

by jrseriel on Tue Feb 05, 2019 11:49 am

Hello All,

I am having some issues with this display: https://www.adafruit.com/product/2407

1. The touch panel does not work correctly when using the display in portrait configuration in Windows 10.
2. There does not seem to be any brightness control support for this display in Windows 10 either.

Order Number: 1968405-8852791701
Date of Purchase: 1/31/19

Can anyone recommend a course of action for these issues?

Thank you & best regards,
-Jon

Is it working, but just not rotating?
2. There does not seem to be any brightness control support for this display in Windows 10 either.

How are you trying to change brightness?

1. The display works but the touch input is not accurate(seems like it is fixed for landscape)
2. By following this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... brightness
The brightness slider is greyed out. I am also unable to change the brightness in Windows Power Options

For the first one, try the calibration process here:

For the brightness, it may be a limitation of the driver and just not supported for that hardware.

The calibration did fix the first issue. But the windows controlled brightness inability is an issue for my application. Is there no fix other than using a pot on it?

yeah HDMI does not have brightness control capability. you can use a pot or find windows software that with 'software dim' your display, like F.Lux does.
