LED strip malfunction

by IceMeister on Sun Feb 10, 2019 6:04 pm

Recently i have purchased two 144 / meter LED RGBW strips. to my notice they do not work properly. a friend of mine also has the same kind LED’s from adafruit but the only difference are they are the “mini’s” unfortunately the only way we could have made it work is to cut into one of the strips. the other strip is unopened. i have pictures of what the LED strip is doing aswell as trying to change the color of the LED but simply will only have a pattern of “Blue, Green, Red” and won’t appear any solid color unto the LED strip. The LED strip is hooked up to a BlueGhozt controller which distributes 12v into 5v, then goes into the controller to control the LED strip. With the same process the "mini's" tend to work flawlessly. But the 144 meter original sized ones do not.

Make sure when you load the code you are using the correct version of the library call. There are RGB and RGBW strips and you need to use the proper call.

According to this page from Ghoztlighting https://www.ghoztlighting.com/choosing-leds/ RGBW leds may not be supported.

Any other type, including sk6812(rgbw) will not be compatible with the BlueGhozt.
