Beginners Questions for LED matrix usage (2279)

Dear all,

I want to equip one of my microscopes with a LED matrix, to allow application of light during imaging.

I was looking at the 64x32 RGB LED Matrix - 3mm pitch (Product Number (2279), and before buying it, I wanted to make sure that it fits with our setup.

According to the dimensions, the LED Matrix is 15 mm thick. Space is limited within the microscope, and is maximal 20 mm space. Is this sufficient for both the matrix and the power connection?

Additionally, can this be controlled by a Raspberry pi as well? I would prefer using out exisiting hardware running python, and could only find manuals for Arduino usage.

You can drive it with a Raspberry Pi with this:

The power and ribbon cable connectors might add too much extra height though. We don't have specific dimension, but you can get a general sense of this from the photos in this guide:
