RGB Neon Strip, part 4245

by AmeliaT on Tue Aug 20, 2019 12:03 pm

Hi there,

I rec'd a strip of the 12v RGB Neon-like strip, part 4245. When I tested, it appears that the red component of the leds on the last section are dead. I sent a video to support@adafruit but it's too large to attach here.

See image for additional info. Order #2115646

Thanks!

How are you powering the strip? Any PWM control going on for the different color channels?

Have you tried squeezing the strip in that location to see if you can get it to come on?

Im using a 3 button mini controller from amazon and an 8xaa battery pack from Adafruit. I’ve used this combo with 12v non-addressable strips over a dozen or so times.

I hadn’t tried pinching it, but will if you want me to. I’ve cut and soldered it in a different orientation now but i have video and more pictures of the initial tests/results. Thanks!!

Meh, let's just replace it. Most likely a connection issue.

Send an email to support@adafruit.com with a link to this thread and your order number and they can send you a replacement LED strip.

Thanks

Yea, my concern was more quality control since it was in the package and all...not sure if a replacement will make it in time but I’ll see what support@ folks say!

Thanks! You’re great!
