About using RGB Matrix HAT with RTC with pi 4

by Beksin on Mon Sep 30, 2019 10:55 am

Hello. I’d like to ask a question.

I’d purchased this product (RGB Matrix HAT) from here 1 weeks ago and am using it well on Raspberry 3 B+

But there's one problem with Pi 4
This basic example project works well on Pi 4 (https://adafruit.com/adafruit-rgb-matri ... ive-matrix)

But this project does not work with Raspberry Pi 4. (https://learn.adafruit.com/raspberry-pi ... y/software) (Raspberry Pi 3 perfectly works without problems)

Could you let me know the solution? Unlike Raspberry Pi3, nothing appears in the matrix on Pi 4
The command line was that photo I uploaded.

Thanks!

Hi there, I wanted to reply to confirm what you're seeing.

I initially tried the project with a Pi 4 but was only able to see results using the rpi-rgb-led-matrix project. I got the same feedback from the command line when attempting to run the rpi-fb-matrix software.

Seeing your post, I actually purchased a Pi 3 to confirm since I'm looking to use my matrix as an active display. Sure enough, it worked just fine after following the instructions.

I'm seeing that they're describing the rpi-fb-matrix project as deprecated but other than using rpi-rgb-led-matrix to display discreet images and videos, it doesn't look like there's currently any way to output directly to the matrix. I'm hoping someone is looking into adding this capability for the Pi 4.
