NeoPixel Strips only lighting SOME LEDs, not all

by mrn_stem on Wed Nov 27, 2019 8:48 pm

Hello,

I am a teacher and my students are all working with NeoPixel strips. A common problem that I have yet to figure out is that only half (usually about half) of the lights light up.

I am doing everything the uberguide tells me. 5V/2A and all circuits are good. I am using the "strandtest" example code that came with the NeoPixel library (set to 60 pixels) and using the arduino platform for coding. In one example a student has 1 meter/60 LEDs but only 27 of them are lighting up.

ANy tips???

What are you driving them with? If it's a 3.3v signal, you might need a driver/level-converter like https://www.adafruit.com/product/735
