screen resolution for PiTFT Plus 480x320 3.5" on pi v4

by winchenbach on Thu Jan 09, 2020 1:14 pm

I'm trying to use a "PiTFT Plus 480x320 TFT+Touchscreen for Raspberry Pi PRODUCT ID: 2441" on a raspberry pi version 4, but I can't the screen resolution set low enough. Using the adafruit-pitft.sh script if I choose option "4. PiTFT 3.5" resistive touch (320x480)" it doesn't take effect and the resolution stays at the default 720x480.

Any help on getting the resolution set to 320x480 would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
-Eric

I think I have a workaround by editing /boot/config.txt manually.

Hmm.. that's odd. The install script should write the correct raster size to /boot/config.txt

What version of Raspbian are you using (which OS image)?

it's the latest one downloaded from Raspberry.org just a few days again. I downloaded noobs from there and then did the full raspbian install on a raspberry pi 4.

We'll have to check that out and see if there are any new issues related to writing information to /boot/config.txt

Thanks for letting us know about the issue, and I'm glad to hear you were able to get the PiTFT working manually.
