Total Newbie Needing Help with RGB Display

by AC1DFOX on Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:33 pm

I am a complete newbie to this but want to try to setup a stock ticker like the one in this tutorial: https://learn.adafruit.com/16x32-rgb-di ... 2/overview

I wanted to know if this could be done with 4 of the panels instead of 3, and if so will this significantly change the process or wiring or whatever. I am sorry in advance if this is not where this goes, please be kind and move to where it should be.

It should be possible to chain in a 4th display. The process and wiring would be mostly the same.
You can use the data cable supplied with each display to connect the 4th display.
You will need to change the value of kChainedBoards in the software to 4. https://learn.adafruit.com/16x32-rgb-di ... 2/software
And you will need more power. This 5v@10A supply would be a good choice: http://www.adafruit.com/products/658
