No real easy way. I think the compiler would still find it even if you renamed the folder. Just move the one you don't want to use out of your libraries folder and stash it somewhere.

[EDIT] Oh - the patch was merged and released. You could just update to the 2.4.1 version through Library Manager.

I removed my local copy. Restarted Arduino. Updated lib to 2.4.1. I just reinstalled 1.6.4 BSP SAMD. It works now. Great!
Confirmed that it corrects the display problem. Tested with an M4 Express.

Was having the the same issue yesterday with my OLED Featherwing + Feather M0+ Adalogger + GPS Featherwing on a Feather Tripler. Using Arduino 1.8.13 and Adafruit SSD1306 2.4.1. Same issue with a different Feather, and with the Featherwings on a Feather Quad.

Wasn't able to replicate it today...
