My Adafruit 1.14" 240x135 Color TFT Display isnt working

Hey. I just got this in the mail. I used the code and wiring guides from the site for the screen, and the only thing that shows up on the screen is a backlit grey on the entire thing. Please help

Are you using Arduino or Python code?

Which controller?

Please post a picture of your wiring. 800x600 works best.

I am using the arduino code, and a Leonardo board.
I am using the code from the tutorial on the site.
Heres the wiring. Image
from left to right:
5v, ground, 13, 11, 10, 9, 8

Thanks can you show the Leonardo as well (I appreciate you mentioning the pin numbers connected that helps a lot). I'm guessing there is an ICSP issue here as mentioned in the wiring section of the guide.

Basic Graphics Test Wiring
Wiring up the display in SPI mode is pretty easy as there are not that many pins! We'll be using hardware SPI, but you can also use software SPI (any pins) later. Start by connecting the power pins

3-5V Vin connects to the microcontroller 5V pin
GND connects to Arduino ground
SCK connects to SPI clock. On Arduino Uno/Duemilanove/328-based, thats Digital 13. On Mega, its Digital 52 and on other chips its ICSP-3 (See SPI Connections for more details)
MISO is not connected
MOSI connects to SPI MOSI. On Arduino Uno/Duemilanove/328-based, thats Digital 11. On Mega, its Digital 51 and on other chips its ICSP-4 (See SPI Connections for more details)
TFTCS connects to our SPI Chip Select pin. We'll be using Digital 10 but you can later change this to any pin
RST connects to our Display Reset pin. We'll be using Digital 9 but you can later change this pin too.
DC connects to our SPI data/command select pin. We'll be using Digital 8 but you can later change this pin too.


Make sure the jumper wires are pressed all the way into the bread board.

There is a solder blob on the TFT board near the DC pin that looks messy. Are there any shorts between these pins? It might be worth re-soldering for a smoother flow on each of these connections.

How do you deal with the missing down arrow / page-down key?

Dude.... It IS a Leonardo, and i looked it up.... MOSI, MISO and SCK need to connect to the 6 iscp pins!! Let me try this....

WOOOOOOOO! It WORKS!!!! Thank you SO MUCH. I didn't realize that those pins were for spi, until I looked it up.

Thanks! I am in college right now. I figured that messing with more electronics could help my career. I want to invent stuff after having a job in computer science and making money. That's my plan now.
