7" Touchscreen Display for Raspberry Pi not turning on

by gmeron on Thu Nov 19, 2020 1:20 pm

I have purchased a Pi Foundation Display - 7" Touchscreen Display for Raspberry Pi and I am having trouble turning the screen on. I have tried troubleshooting the problem using the information found at the RPI website (link attached below) and still couldn't resolve the issue. I have looked at how people used this display in the past and tried doing the same exact thing but still couldn't resolve the issue. The display screen/power should turn on when it is connected to power and ground but the display I have isn't doing what it is supposed to do. I really appreciate all the help.

@gmeron,

Which model of Raspberry Pi, OS release of Raspbian and power supply are you using?

Could you show a photo of your connection to the Pi from the 7" display?

Did you follow our guide to using this?

I am using Raspberry pi compute module 3, the latest Raspbian and 5V power supply from the Raspberry pi. The power supply connection works since the Raspberry pi works when the supply is directly connected to the display.

I have double checked my connection with multiple sources I have found and it seems to be correct.

I appreciate the help. Thank you!

I didn't know you could access the GPIOs off a Pi compute module. Can you show me a photo of the wiring?
