problem with combinartoin of Pi 0 case and mini-pitft displa

Post by FranTaylor »

If you use the adafruit mini PITFT display on a Raspberry Pi Zero with the adafruit pi zero case, the bottom left plastic nut for the case interferes with the qwiic connector, I have to remove the plastic nut so that I can plug something into the qwiic connector. This is all adafruit stuff and we naturally assume that it will all play well together. It would work fine with a smaller nut.

@FranTaylor,

Can you post a photo of the friction point at the QWIIC connector?

I'm wondering if it makes sense to add a 2x20 stacking header to lift the display a little higher.

I believe I am having the same issue. I purchased the Pi-Hole Zero kit (PID 4475) and the Mini PiTFT won't fit with the top of the included case.

Nice photos.

I see that the Pi Zero clear cover would need to be removed for the display to be used due to the QWIIC connector.

I'll ask engineering if they have any suggestions.

this fits just fine, you can see the header is connecting into the display socket. is the display not showing up?

The display powered but would not refresh/the button did not change function. I can try reseating it again.

Hi, there's a few possibilities.

First, the display should be working even at that angle. You can try removing the clear cover and see if that makes a difference. If it does, you can either leave it removed or add an extension such as https://www.adafruit.com/product/2243.

If it still doesn't work, make sure everything is updated on the pi and maybe reinstall the driver for it. There were some updates earlier in the year that would cause the display to not refresh. You may just want to even do a fresh reinstall on an SD card.
