Hi all,
I am facing a really hard problem with connecting a chain of RGB LED Matrix displays with Adafruit’s RGB Matrix Bonnet. The LED matrix display is for a prototype of our robot Skippy! https://www.skippy.cc/
Here’s a video of the “Glitch”: https://tinyurl.com/d6phhk27
Here’s the hardware setup:
Raspberry Pi 3
Adafruit RGB Matrix Bonnet
RGB LED Matrix - 32x64 (6 panels) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F2JW8D3?re ... b_ap_share
The below image shows the hardware setup in which the GPIO pins 4 and 18 are connected. In https://github.com/hzeller/rpi-rgb-led- ... ng-flicker, the author had suggested to solder those pins. Instead I had connected them with jumper wires.
I have spent an entire week troubleshooting the display chain and the bonnet. I had tried all the modifications specified inhttps://github.com/hzeller/rpi-rgb-led- ... ng-flicker to improve the flickering.
I have also tried to use the CPU in isolated mode by specifying isolcpus=3 at the end of the /boot/cmdline.txt file.
Passed the following options to ./led-image-viewer application:
--led-gpio-mapping=adafruit-hat-pwm
--led-rows=32
--led-cols=64
--led-chain=6
--led-slowdown-gpio=4
--led-gpio-mapping=adafruit-hat-pwm
--led-pwm-lsb-nanoseconds=50
--led-no-hardware-pulse
Even after all these modifications, I haven't been able to figure out how to get a stable image without flickering and brightness glitches in the display. If anyone has already used the same LED matrix , it would be helpful to know whether the hardware setup of the LED matrix has defects or if there is a bug in the ./led-image-viewer application.

The jumper wires between pins 4/18 need to be soldered.

REMOVE this option
--led-no-hardware-pulse
Disable onboard sound.
