What resistor to use for the dLUX-dLITE Cool White Skull

Post by michaelmeissner »

I just bought a pack of the dLUX-dLITE Cool White Skull leds. Now, I haven't dealt with raw LEDs in many years. Usually, I use neopixels, dotstars, or LED sequins that include their own resistors.

What would an appropriate resistor be for:
  • Using it with 3.3v power from a microprocessor;
  • Using it with a li-po battery (3.7-4.2 volts), using a mosfet or similar to control the light; (or)
  • Using it with 5v power from USB power, using a mosfet or similar to control the light.

Checkout this guide:
https://learn.adafruit.com/all-about-leds

That should hopefully explain how to use the information you provide above for your setup(s) along with this information for the LED:

Code: Select all

Voltage ~3.0-3.2V @ 20mA current
to determine the various values.
