RGB Matrix + nrf52840 + RGB Matrix Wing: 15 FPS (very flicke

I've got this set up, the nrf52840 feather with the Matrix Wing (4A power supply), and a 64x32 RGB matrix.

The example code (both Circuit Python and Arduino) gives me about 15 FPS (as reported by the Arduino example code).

It's very difficult to look at. Definitely not what I expected, more like seizure inducing.

Any idea(s) what I could be doing wrong?

Thanks for the video. I see what you mean that is difficult to look at.

Can you post a photo of any soldering you have done?

Also please link to the test program that you have been running. Would you prefer to pursue this through CircuitPython or Arduino? It will be confusing to do both.

I'm cool working out the issues using the Arduino path, since that has the most fine grain control over what's going on.

One correction, the soldering pictures include the Feather Sense I tried as my second attempt.

I tried it using the "bluefruit sense" and a basic "bluefruit feather" (nRF52840). Both had identical results.

Taking a look now. The Protomatter library recently got some changes for ESP32…it’s possible something nRF-related was inadvertently broken. I’ll reply when I have some findings!

Problem solved! Just published release 1.4.1…it may take an hour or two to percolate to the Arduino Library Manager.

That worked! Rock solid, no flicker. It's showing over 190 FPS with the demo code.
