Possible to chain silver LED strands?

Post by Technigirl »

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone knows whether it's possible to chain 2 of these silver LED strands together https://www.adafruit.com/product/895, if I cut off the battery attached to one of the strands?

The end of the strand (non-battery end) has 2 of the silver wires sticking out of it.

The silver wire has some sort of coating on it. I think I would need to remove that from the ends of the 1st wire before soldering the second, but not sure how. I am also not sure if the 2 coin cell batteries will be able to drive 2 strands.

Thank you,
Melissa

We have not tried it. It is probably possible, but I'd expect the leds to be somewhat dimmer and the run-time considerably shorter.
