76mm DIA Light Ring Mounting Inconsistency
Threaded holes appear patterned inversely and/or at different heights relative to the bottom surface of the light.
We have ordered several of these over a period of time and designed some application-specific mounting parts that assumed the 3 screw hole pattern was consistent with respect to the orientation of the power cable and base surface
So far we've only recently discovered this one (out of 10 or so to date) that has a different hole pattern. Is this a 1-off fabrication error, rolling change, perhaps something else...?

How are they aligned if the top ring is turned down instead? (facing opposite)

They appear to be misaligned in both arrangements (front-to-back and back-to-back as shown).

the mounting holes are for a set-screw type situation not for attachment to other holes so not much we can do about it - its probably arbirary. we'll update the product description to say so.

OK Thanks. We'll need to use a different part for our application.
FWIW this 3-point set screw mounting works fine on a centered, cylindrical (lens) shape, but does not readily attach to squares, rectangular camera modules, etc. Especially when the len(es) oriented off-center within its module.
Perhaps a consistent 3 x 120 deg hole spacing, clocked with respect to the power cable...or better yet, additional 4 x 90 deg hole spacing as well to accommodate odd shapes
Something to consider.
