Problem with 2.8 TFT breakout board

by Titanium on Sun Mar 10, 2013 10:10 am

Hi Adafruit,

I bought the 2.8 TFT breakout board and I have got some problems with the screen, although I followed your tutorial.
I connected the screen like it is said in the tutorial, I renamed the two libraries to "Adafruit_TFTLCD" (I commented out the line: #define USE_ADAFRUIT_SHIELD_PINOUT) and "Adafruit_GFX". The libraries are placed in the arduino libraries folder.
I loaded up the code "graphicstest" to my arduino UNO but the screen does not show any graphics.
I will show you a photo of the wiring.
Please excuse, my English is not very good, I am from Germany.

Please help, I really want to use the sreen.

Sorry I forgot to post the message in the serial monitor:

Using Adafruit 2.8" TFT Arduino Shield Pinout
Unknown LCD driver chip: 0
If using the Adafruit 2.8" TFT Arduino shield, the line:
#define USE_ADAFRUIT_SHIELD_PINOUT
should appear in the library header (Adafruit_TFT.h).
If using the breakout board, it should NOT be #defined!
Also if using the breakout, double-check that all wiring
matches the tutorial.

Hi there,

Please try installing this earlier version of the Arduino library and let me know if that fixes the problem:
