3.5" TFT LCD Screen Replacement

by JoshYounguk on Wed Apr 01, 2015 2:25 pm

I originally noticed a chip on the corner when I first got the screen but didn't think anything of it as the screen still worked perfectly. However today my screen decided to crack, from the chip right across the screen. :(

Where can I obtain a new screen from of which matches specification ?

Regards
Josh

Could you post a picture of the crack? When did you purchase the display?

Thanks for the quick reply, it was purchased 4th December 2014 from UK distributor PK Sang Electronics. I don't suspect it to be under warranty back from Dec.

From the terrible picture, you can see the crack starts from the top corner and comes down across the screen. The screen it self works but with some distortion along the crack.

Thanks again,

Josh

Check with PK Sang Electronics to see if they can do anything for you.

So I have been in touch with SK Pang electronics. Theres nothing they can do apart from supply another whole unit at normal cost.
I didnt actually realise that the HX8357 chip is actually part of the display not on the breakout pcb. So i guess the only option is to purchase another unit.

Actually, I am wondering about this too. I've googled the part number that is found on the screen but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any indication of where I can get just a replacement screen with the 50-pin ZIF connector?
