Using the Adafruit 2.8″ TFT Touch Shield with an Intel Galil

You have the following web page titled "Using the Adafruit 2.8″ TFT Touch Shield with an Intel Galileo"

https://blog.adafruit.com/2014/04/15/us ... l-galileo/

which claims that this shield can be used with the Intel Galileo. I just purchased one, and now see that when you go to the page which says this is possible:
https://communities.intel.com/message/224873#224873

that it's only in the first post that the author says he was getting it to work. At the bottom of the page, the same author says he never got it to work.
I have tried the code, as well as one other on Github claiming to work with an Intel Galileo, and they are both riddled with uncompilable code (as the link
above acknowledges). There is no clear fix to get working code, apparently.

I suggest the Adafruit page be removed, as no one has found a way for this display to work with a Galileo, so this is something like false or mistaken advertising. It will save people who read the title and buy a shield thinking this is true from having to return it.
