Matrix WebApp

by BrilliantLabs on Sat Feb 18, 2017 10:07 pm

Hi there,

I am have been following this tutorial hoping to get to the point where my students can simply update a scrolling message by using the webapp as outlined in the tutorial.

I am able to navigate my browser to the webapp, however there is no update to the panels through the WAR server. Is this supposed to happen? In order to actually display my desired text I have to enter: sudo ./runtext.py --t my desired text

Do you have to use terminal each time on the RPI 2 to update the panels or should the text automatically update via the webserver GUI?

Thanks.

As I read it, you should be able to update the scrolling text from the web app. I don't know why it's not working. I'll try to contact the tutorial author.

Hi. Yes the Web app allows for changing the scrolling text on the fly.

The last time I tried it was working and I have not made any changes to the code since.

BrilliantLabs, do you see any errors on the command line or in the 'logs' area of the Web app when changing the text?

I just uploaded an updated WAR file with a code fix for the scrolling text issue.

Can you please download the WAR file again, and try the scrolling text again?
