Accessories to use 4701

Post by johntrack »

I was generously provided Adafruit ST25DV16K I2C RFID EEPROM Breakout - STEMMA QT / Qwiic[ID:4701]

I watched the lady ada video and I watched the jp product pick of the week video. I’d like your help to understand what are my options for buying the missing hardware to make this work. https://www.adafruit.com/product/4701

I believe it may be a stemma connector but could you help with options? I think I am looking for a connector with a cable to both a computer and to the tag, but I’m a bit lost on getting those pieces so I can program the tag so it can be used.

The board has 2 STEMMA-QT connectors for use with an I2C bus.. They are connected together and can be used to chain STEMMA-QT I2C boards together.

The product guide for this board covers how to use it. See https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-st2 ... m-breakout.

Going through the guide, it recommends something like a Metro M4 Express for programming the RFID board: https://www.adafruit.com/product/3382. It's a good general purpose board for playing around with hardware, physical computing, and embedded systems. You will need a STEMMA-QT cable as well to connect STEMMA-QT boards to the Metro: https://www.adafruit.com/product/4209.
