Adafruit Vibrating Mini Motor Disc - ID:1201

Post by Ryan_18 »

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask if anyone here knows how long does Adafruit Vibrating Mini Motor Disc - 1201 will last if unused? Or not much used? This question is for education purposes only.

Thank you in advance!

Good question. It's not the kind of information you typically find in a manufacturer's spec sheet.

The shelf-life of a typical DC motor should be quite a few years unless stored in particularly hostile conditions. Possible failure modes might include:

* Insulation degradation due to extreme temperatures or exposure to harmful chemical vapors.

* Corrosion due to storage in very high humidity conditions or exposure to liquid water.

* Lubrication degradation due to evaporation or contamination. This could be accelerated by prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
