Battery supply

Post by chasewolff »

Hi, There, If separate an Adafruit Circuit-Python micro-controller board from a computer (Desktop or Laptop) through USB bus, instead, power this board with a battery (keep same voltage such as 5V, with no-problem watts capability), and still through USB cable (data lines are unavailable), can this micro-controller board work (firmware was installed before disconnected from the computer) ? Or there are certain micro-controller boards which can work only with USB connection to a PC?
I am looking for boards that can work with battery, could you recommend? Thank you.

Generally, once you upload the program, you don't need a USB connection to run.

USB cable also provides 5V, so if you powering it through USB or battery, there's no difference.

Normally, batteries are of 12V, and in my projects, I use LM7805 voltage regulator to convert 12V to 5V.
