Gemmo MO Difficulties in a Virtual Environment

Post by emackay6 »

We are trying to use the Gemma MO in a Citrix virtual environment and connecting to the VM's via Dell hardware (Wyse thin clients) that we are managing through the Wyse Management Suite. We have used USB View to capture the correct Vendor and Device ID’s. USB passthrough appears to be working as it should and the device is connecting when it is plugged into thin client and is being recognized by the VM. The problem comes after pushing the first program through maker.makecode.com. The Gemma will take the program and execute it, but we will no longer be able to get it to connect after pushing the first program.

It connects with no issues and can have program after program pushed to it and switch back to storage mode after pushing the reset button if it is connected to a physical machine. But it will not work if doing the same thing in while connected to the virtual machine. Any ideas on what may be missing to have this reliably work in the virtual environment?

virtualized usb never really works for dynamic devices. you need to use native OS
