RGB LCD and BBB help

by baude on Wed Aug 10, 2016 5:13 pm

Folks,

I bought an RGB LCD (https://www.adafruit.com/products/498) and have wired it to my Beagle Board Black as suggested (https://learn.adafruit.com/character-lc ... ack/wiring) and I am unable to display anything.

* Does the BBB need any special boot parameters to enable those pins (like it does for uart)?
* I am running char_lcd.py (and have uncommented the BBB settings and commented the pi ones). That should display something right?
* I checked voltage at the LCD pins 1 and 2. Looks good
* I have reviewed the wiring multiple times.
* Should the display backlight trigger on boot?

It would be good to know more about the system software on your BeagleBone:

uname -a

cat /etc/debian_version

cat /etc/dogtag
