Beagle Bone Black, no display.

Post by dkline »

Got my new Beagle Bone Black starter kit. Connected a USB hub for the mouse and keyboard, ethernet cable, and mini-HDMI to VGA converter [no connected to a PC through USB]. It appears to have booted since the user LEDs are blinking, but no display on the monitor. The mouse briefly appeared, then nothing more. Tried to have the monitor automatically adjust, but won't allow me to enter its menu. Has anyone encountered this ?

Update:

I went a head and ordered this is exact adapter from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Ac ... dmi+to+vga

This still does not work. Upon bootup, the mouse cursor displays for a few seconds
and then disappears. Is there anything else to try, or is it a bad unit ?

Please advise, thanks in advance,

It sounds like it is displaying video at some point during boot up.

Could you please post a photo of what you see on the screen?

I'd also recommend downloading the BeagleBoard.org Latest Firmware Image and try booting it to see if there is any improvement:

Debian Jessie for BeagleBone via microSD card (Debian 8.6 2016-11-06 4GB SD LXQT)
