BeagleBone came with wrong kernel?

by kens on Mon Dec 04, 2017 4:55 pm

I ordered a "Element 14 BeagleBone Black Rev C - 4GB - Pre-installed Debian (Element 14 Version) [ID:1996]". According to the web page, "The new BeagleBone Black Rev C ships with the Debian Linux w/the 3.8.13-bone kernel." However, the BeagleBone Black I received had a 4.1 kernel installed on it, which was incompatible with my application since many things have changed between the two kernels.

Please check that the BeagleBones are shipping with the expected kernel, and update the web page if the preinstalled kernel has changed.

(I was able to install the kernel I needed, so I don't need any support help. This is just feedback.)

Thanks,
Ken
