PIC vs. AVR

by Andy on Sun May 15, 2005 6:14 pm

I have worked with the Basic Stamp 2 for a while and I've grown out of it. Which brand of microcontrollers should I get into? Any suggestions on good resources for one or the other? eg. books, articles

THANKS
Andy

The Pic is the better microcontroller, basicly the AVR kind of copyied the PIC in many ways.

Please qualify your accusations with some evidence!!

AVR design has been optimised for development with the 'C' language. There
is a free C compiler called 'WinAVR' that can be used to write code for Atmel AVR microcontrollers. also AVR offers greater performance in most cases than Microchip PIC.
