OLED Bonnet Pinout

by Louis_P on Wed Dec 06, 2017 12:18 pm

Is there an OLED Bonnet Pinout out there? If not, will there be one soon?

Thanks for any help,
Louis

The schematics are here:

Is that what you're after?

Thanks for the quick and helpful reply! As I understand it (I am a noob at reading schematics) the OLED Bonnet uses all the pins with green coming out of them on the left bit of schematic. However, it doesn't need all of the GND, 5V and 3.3V pins does it?

Correct. If there are no green lines, the pins are not used for anything. For example, GPIO18 is not used on the bonnet. Same for other without the green lines.

Thanks for the help. I understand it now. However, there are green lines coming of all the GND, 5V and 3V pins. Does the OLED Bonnet actually need all these?

Even though there are multiple pins, they are all tied to the same thing. All the GND are the same, all the 3.3V are the same, and all the 5V are the same. This is true on the Pi itself and the Bonnet schematic just reflects this. Looking at the PCB file in Eagle, it looks like the 3.3V and GND are used by the board, but the 5V supply is not actually used. There's just a trace to tie them together.
