pitft 320 touchscreenx240n28

im sorry but im having trouble navigating your forum to get a replacement , the one i received is defective. i pluged it into the pi and it blinked and was out. i can no longer get the back light to come on. i just received this and would like a replacement.i know the unit is faulty. this is a extreamly difficult way to request a replacement. i did try twice to install the driver and software by the instructions you have on your websight with no luck. i am positive the unit is faulty and would like a replacment. thank you

We should try and troubleshoot before calling the display faulty.

What model Pi are you using? What operating system are you using?

OK, that should be fine. And just to verify what you did here:
i did try twice to install the driver and software by the instructions you have on your websight with no luck.

you were following this guide?
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pit ... -install-2

Did you see any errors when the script ran?

Option 1 would have been the correct choice for your TFT.

What options did you pick for displaying the console or HDMI output?

I picked option 1 to hen I pick to mirror the HDMI to the screen. I read on the forum there should be a back light even before you install the software, I am not getting a backlight yes I used that link to install

OK, let's check the hardware for anything obvious. Please post a photo of the backside of the TFT, similar to this one:

It looks like one of the ribbon cable connectors has backed out and needs to be pushed in. It will look like the other one when fully seated. Also check that the ribbon cable itself is seated well. It looks OK, but also like it has maybe backed out a little on the side with
backed out connector.

In terms of Pi 4 - it should work OK on that.

No that was me trying to figure out why the display won’t work it doesn’t work even with the ribbon cable seated correctly

One caveat to what I said about Pi 4. That particular PiTFT has the older style smaller header connector. The Pi's have common pins across models, so would work in terms of pin outs, but the physical connection would be a little off.

The same may apply in your case?
I’m using a pi b+ and it’s latest rasbian.

Which model Pi B+ are you using? The older 26-pin version? Or one of the newer 40-pin versions?

I’m using the 40pin. So will I be able to exchange this for a working item?

Since you have a 40 pin connector and are using a PiTFT with a 26 pin connector - are you sure you connected it correctly? It can't even be off by one pin.
