Pi 4 Aluminum Metal Heatsink Case Issue with Ribbon Cable Moderators: adafruit_support_bill, adafruit

In assembling my Pi 4 and the Aluminum Metal Heatsink Pi Case I realized that the case does not work with the ribbon cable from the Pi Cobbler. This is a bummer, I really like the case, but not being able to fit the ribbon cable is a major pain. Searching the forum after the fact it looks like others have had this problem with the same case with the fans. Has anyone found a good work around or should I just hog out some of the aluminum on the case to make more room?

Since this is a known issue is there a plan to rework the case a bit to fix this? Or at least add a warning to the product page so that people aren't surprised by this issue?

Yes, that's an unfortunate lack of forethought on the design. My solution was to trim the ends of the cable connector so that it fit.
