Other than subscribing to this topic, what would be the best way to find out when the Stretch support for PiTFT is ready?

Thanks!

we spent a bunch of time and fixed a lot of stuff and made it faster too!
try this on a fresh stretch (don't install our kernel) :)
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
# cd ~
# wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/adafruit/Adafruit-PiTFT-Helper/master/adafruit-pitft-helper2.sh
# chmod +x adafruit-pitft-helper2.sh
# sudo ./adafruit-pitft-helper2.sh

Hi,

I've tried to execute the last script that was posted (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/adafr ... helper2.sh) but after reboot my PI is stuck to at the "welcome" splash screen, command logged on the side is "dphys-swapfile.service"

Freshly burned Stretch on a Pi3 Model B v1.2 2015 - chose the TFT captouch on the prompts.

Any help?

what did you pick for console/HDMI mirror

for 'frozen' you mean that's on the HDMI display right? whats on the tft screen?

My bad. Screen was not connected properly and I had picked the console (and it was the end of a long day :) ). It's all working ok! Thanks a lot!

Trying the script on a 28c . Console text appears after reboot but touchscreen calibration fails with

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
sudo TSLIB_FBDEVICE=/dev/fb1 TSLIB_TSDEVICE=/dev/input/event0 ts_calibrate
xres = 320, yres = 240
selected device is not a touchscreen I understand

Any ideas?

yah for that i dont have a solution yet - TSLIB doesnt play nicely with the built in capacitive touch driver. it shows up like a *mouse* not a touchscreen. that said, calibration shouldnt be required because its a pre-calibrated display. it definitely works in X11 tho!

I tried

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
os.environ["SDL_MOUSEDEV"] = "/dev/input/mouse0"

but that got me the same result - "selected device is not a touchscreen I understand"

I also tried to apply the installSDL.sh script to enforce sdl1.2 but that made no difference.

The interesting part is that the error appears after the first touch to the screen. So it definitely recognizes something, just not the right thing. Very frustrating.

Thank you Adafruit !!
I have been trying to get my PiTFT 3.2 display back after doing an update/upgrade.

I followed the instructions in the tutorial & could not get it to work. I do not want to use an image that I could not upgrade.
I hope you will update your tutorial to reflect this fix, this is much easier.
