Hello
(not sure this is the right forum, but only one I found about RPI)
I plugged my µ-sd (card that is running fine on my RPI3) into my new RPI 3 B + and it does not boot (rgb square screen)
is it possible to tweak the files on the µ-sd card to make it boot ?
thanks
RPI 3 B plus rainbow screen

Did you load the latest version of Raspian onto your SD Card or are you using an older version. It looks like it is necessary to use the latest Raspian release.

The Pi3 B+ requires updated firmware. As @jerryn suggests, try downloading the latest version of the rasbpian OS from here:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/
and install using Etcher:

So that means I cannot use the NOOBS card that I ordered along with the RPi B+ and I need to download Raspbian instead?
If this is the case then...
Perhaps the checkbox option on the product page:

... should be removed from the product page since it will not boot with this card. Also include 1 x 8 GB MicroSD Card with full PIXEL desktop NOOBS ($9.95)

I had the same problem - rainbow screen. When I plugged in the SD card to my PC it reported that it need to be reformatted. I suspect Adafruit has a bad batch of NOOBS SD cards.
I reformatted the SD card (received from Adafruit) on my PC and unzipped NOOBS 2.7 to the card and everything booted just fine on the 3B+.

Re: RPI 3 B plus rainbow screen
hiya as an FYI, the noobs we have in the store as of this writing we ordered in late feb (not knowing there was a new Pi 3B+) and the firmware was only updated for B+ support in mid march, so for the current batch in the shop (as of late march) you'll need to re-burn the NooBs card. Next batch we get, we'll update to the latest firmware. whew!
