Adafruit PiTFT 2.8" Touchscreen Display
I have the 2.8" PiTFT Touchscreen Display (https://www.adafruit.com/product/1601) and I followed the easy install instructions (https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pit ... -install-2) and everything is fine (I can see the desktop and everything), except that I can't use the display as a touchscreen. Shouldn't I be able to move the mouse or whatever with my finger? Why is it only the resistive touchscreen that needs touch calibrated? Did I maybe not get a touchscreen display?

Re: Adafruit PiTFT 2.8" Touchscreen Display
Post a photo showing the back of the PiTFT where the flex cable comes through the slot please, plus the output from `dmesg`.
800x600 images usually work best, and it's much easier to scan the message dump when it's between CODE tags.

Re: Adafruit PiTFT 2.8" Touchscreen Display
Here is the output of 'dmesg'. I'll post a pic in a couple min.
Code: Select all

Re: Adafruit PiTFT 2.8" Touchscreen Display
Thank you.
The dmesg trace says you installed support for the FT6206 capacitive touchscreen controller, but that PiTFT uses the STMPE610 resistive touchscreen sensor. Try re-running the setup script and using the resistive option.

Re: Adafruit PiTFT 2.8" Touchscreen Display
Oh...yeah I thought I had a capacitive touchscreen. I'll try setting up as the resistive touch. Thanks a bunch!
