After connecting power to both the bonnet and the Pi, I've noticed that the power LED on the bonnet is blinking. Is this supposed to happen? The tutorial isn't clear on this point since it says that my Zero doesn't have a power LED... when it very much does.
Moving on to the Python tutorial then the following simple program will quite happily brighten and dim an LED:
Code: Select all
import board
import busio
import adafruit_pca9685
i2c = busio.I2C(board.SCL, board.SDA)
hat = adafruit_pca9685.PCA9685(i2c)
hat.frequency = 60
led_channel = hat.channels[0]
for i in range(0,0xffff,10):
led_channel.duty_cycle=i
for i in range(0xffff,0,-10):
led_channel.duty_cycle=i
Code: Select all
from adafruit_servokit import ServoKit
kit = ServoKit(channels=16)
kit.servo[0].angle= ....
I did some (somewhat blind) experiments writing directly to the I2C bus, and with those, I occasionally heard a quiet buzzing sound from the servos. However, I've not gotten either of them to move.
Is this related to the flashing power LED on the bonnet, or am I missing something else?
