I am working on a more cost effective version of the PiGRRL for my fellow students in my highschool engineering class and I am very stumped with the speaker and amplifier.
I have very limited knowledge when it comes to digital electronics and am looking for some guidance.
I am using the Raspberry Pi 3 a+ with a 32 gb micro-sad card with retropi downloaded onto it. I have the whole system working except the only noise I am getting out from my speaker is very erratic beeping.
I am using the Adafruit Mono 2.5W Class D Audio Amplifier - PAM8302a that is powered by 5.07V and is connected to ground. The A- pin is connected to the pi and so is the A+ pin (pictured below). The amplifier output connects to a .5 watt 8 ohm speaker
The noise does not persist if I disconnect the wires from the pi
Also I have tried multiple speakers and two separate chips
I am at a stand still. Any help is greatly appreciated!
