RGB Matrix Bonnet with Raspberry Pi 4? POE Pins in the way

Post by aurora900 »

Hi,
I just bought a matrix bonnet to use with my raspberry pi 4 as the website stated it was compatible, however, when I went to attach the bonnet to the GPIO pins I noticed that the POE pins are in the way of putting it on. Is this an error on the website or is it actually compatible with the pi 4? Would it be safe to just put the bonnet on part way and put some tape over the POE pins to prevent shorts? I can't tell if the GPIO pins will make good contact with the bonnet if I do that. Or should I just de-solder the POE pins (I will likely never use them)

I have used one of these to avoid the POE pins. https://www.adafruit.com/product/4079
